There are 3 powerful Google Flights tips we always use to save money on flights, which is what I consider one of the best flight booking websites in existence.

In this video, I’ll not only show you how to find cheap flights on Google Flights, but also a couple other tricks to potentially knock prices down even further.

Note on the VPN trick — this can be hit or miss. VPNs are better at getting cheap hotel deals than cheap flights, but once in a while you’ll stumble on a huge discount.

I’ve found that it works more often when searching for local flights in another country while you’re currently located in a different country (ex. Searching for flights between 2 Colombian cities while in the US).

It also sometimes works to simply switch the language and/or currency when searching on an airline’s website, but it depends on the airline/website.

In this Google Flights tutorial, I show you exactly how to find cheap airfare…but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. If you want to know how to find the cheapest flights possible, you need to understand the “big picture” of booking cheap flights…

Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼

We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it…we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼

Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻

  1. Nice but goes too fast at times. I can't figure out how to not enter a destination but get the grid with all the months and prices. Mine has the months but no prices.

  2. The problem with these videos are they're the same as videos you've already made. I feel like it's really difficult to keep coming up with new content on your nice unless you make it super country specific which can lower the target audience.
Nice video but all stuff I've seen many times before

  3. So helpful thank you, and apologies that I checked Going when you said it and failed to click into it from your page, dang it! I will do better in the future :(. Just a note too for folks looking at a destination for flex dates – the GREEN prices are the lowest for *that month only*. So, for example if I see $200 in March as lowest and am good with that, then I go to April and the lowest is $170 but the date doesn't work for me, I need to KEEP LOOKING for the $200 in April. That took me a while to learn and so I thought I was missing out when the green date didnt work for me…when in reality, there were great options at a relatively cheap rate for me, they just weren't highlighted on Google in the month I was looking at <3

  4. LOVE your tips! Have you ever thought of having a stream with another You Tuber? (ie Law Tube does the same and have more streamers together discussing subjects. Very interesting! Would love to see you and Aly Smalls talk about cheap trips).

  5. Trying to follow you is like trying to like trying to catch up with the guy in the car, that left his 'gas cap' off. The closer you get the faster he moves. Slow DOWNNNNNNNNNNN, your pace a little to that we can mimick you, on another window on our computer. Plus think, the longer we watch you the better your metrics on you tube.

  6. Good point. I always book directly with the airline, when I know of a cheap time and which airline. Because a lot of time, these third party app will not be able to secure the flight at the end.

  7. You forgot to mention you can only use a lap top top. Who uses a lap top in this world – people use tablets. Google flight is like being at the dentist on IPad at least!

  8. Thanks, man. I'm wrapping up a long stay in Antioquia, Colombia, and it's time to head back home. This really helped me find the most affordable option (though the budget airline I chose to take is.. awful. We all know who I'm talking about), so I'd like to thank you. Keep doing these kinds of things; it's very helpful.
