  1. Strongly disagree with Ghent over Brugge. Ghent felt like a busy, corporate, working city, whereas Brugge is a romantic, scenic, and laid back city. Sure Brugge is busy but it's justified, and I'd gladly go back still.

  2. You only add to unhealthiness and misery of Europe by "staying at an apartment we rent by a local family"🤮🤮🤮 All you ignorant and irresponsible tourists with your short rents brought this SICK situation of rent inflation and homelessness across Europe's cities. Go get informed and then make videos on yt for f…s sake

  3. Lovely suggestions, and I agree with most of them. However, Madeira has become remarkably crowded in recent years. It seems to appear on the list of nearly every European outdoor magazine these days, and some of the hiking trails have grown so busy that visitors now have to pay an access fee.

That said, Ljubljana remains one of my absolute favourite cities in Europe — graceful, relaxed, and wonderfully liveable.

  4. From my experience, Barcelona is unnecessary. Paris is beautiful but the food is not tasty. Rome is both beautiful and has excellent food. In any case, Eastern Europe, a safari in Africa, or the Far East is preferable.

  5. So many places in Brugge to visit where literally not a single tourist comes and these are the best places.
They just don't have any shops or food places. Makes me wonder what tourists actually come for here.

  6. You could make a video in 10 seconds saying don't go on vacation just to capital cities / hot spots / main attractions. Even better if you search Google for weird / strange places. However, Ljubljana is definitely the most popular destination in Slovenia lol, it doesn't fit the logic of the whole video, even though it is certainly a beautiful and nice place.

Bansko, for example, is also MEGA advertised everywhere… soon people from expensive countries will raise the price level of Bansko to the sky… It would be worth taking a train to different parts of Bulgaria without any prejudice, even when train tickets are 10 times cheaper than in Western Europe. Hopefully, the transition to the euro won't raise the price level in Bulgaria, at least not much.

  7. Hahh Madeira… you're right, it's a beautiful island, but unfortunately it has also fallen victim to mass tourism. It's only okay if you go in October-November or during the winter months, otherwise the crowds are a real nightmare.

  8. Well i am very suprised. Maybe you where in the lowseason in Ghent and Valencia, because they are really touristic hot spots! For Belgium you also forgot to name Antwerpen and Leuven. For Holland you can also visit Utrecht, Den Haag…And i would say anyhow visit the hotspots in their low season! Not so crowded and more affordable prices! and skiing yeah, go also in low season. Austria is not far from Munich, you will find good spots. If you really want budget skiing in the Alps, just try the French Alps like ski areas "Porte du Soleil", "Les Sybelles"…

  9. I agree with Positano being crowed but also consider that it's 8,65 km²!!! It's not that there is too many people it's that it's a village, a small village

  10. Instead of Sorrento, maybe try Praiano, just 6 miles or so past Positano on your way to Amalfi. Relatively quiet with a few small groceries and restaurant, it's a much more authentic experience (from our perspective) than Sorrento. You can just walk from your hotel or Airbnb and hike up to the Sentiero degli Dei. The only downside is that you don't have the Naples/Capri connections that Sorrento has.

  11. Great list! Just gotta disagree on Ljubljana. If you want to read poems by the riverbank it's the right place for you. But don't expect to be able to actually do something there. Also imho ugliest city in slovenia outside the city center. I liked Koper or the more rural parts more.

  12. The reference about swapping Amsterdam and Haarlem is right on (I'd even consider visiting Amsterdam but booking a hotel in Zaandam), I recommend buying a monthly ticket train and monthly museum ticket and you pretty much can visit any city in the Netherlands.

  13. Nothing there is underrated. Those are all very touristy places just so far slightly less visited but since those videos that repeat the same "underrated" places go viral you will make those cities the same over touristy hells. I hope you are aware what you are participating in and ruining those places in future for locals and future travelers.

  14. The region , which is underrated , is north of Hamburg, Germany! Baltic or North Sea, Flensburg, Schleswig, Lübeck, which can be a cheaper alternative to Hamburg. The area called Schleswig -Holstein:Plenty of museums, Schloss Gottorf, European birthplace for princesses, Schloss Glückstein , or chilling on beaches or islands. And bordered to Denmark!

  16. consider zandvoort along with haarlem too – one train line to amsterdam, seaside, some historic stuff also, and definitely more affordable.
if you want to go on vacation like alot of dutch people might, stay at the centerparcs. well priced in the off season, with a nice tropical themed indoor water park.

  17. I‘m German and I travel a lot through the whole of Europe, including Madeira. I stayed there with a friend for a while (work and travel, if you will) and I just don‘t like it there. One of the few nice places are the huge port (but only without the nasty monster cruise ships) and some monuments. But apart from that, it‘s quite expensive (ok., it‘s an island, but so are the Canaries which are way cheaper) and it‘s a struggle to go for a walk without sweating due to the mountain-ish streets. I know from a friend that he completes his Iron Man preparations there bc it‘s so full of hills. I neither like the food and the ppl there are not as friendly. Plus it‘s loaded with tourists throughout the year due to the huge cruise ships I mentioned before. And except from the overpriced entrance to the flower garden, there‘s not much see unless you like hiking or visit a small brewery. No, thanks. Although I have to admit that the Canaries are even worse except for the hill landscape.

Additionally, my partner and I are considering leaving Germany for a more tax friendly EU country and Madeira (Portugal) is nowhere near on our list.

Rather check out Cyprus, there‘s so much to see, like huge arqueological excavation sites, great food, nicer ppl and low accomodation prices. Supermarkets are also way better equipped. We‘ll go there this November again for the third time.

  18. exactly what everyone should be doing in Amalfi coast – stay in Sorento, enjoy quality restaurants and evening walks and spend days driving around and hiking in Amalfi coast. Personal favourite was actually Ravello.
