I book Economy & Fly Business Class- Here’s how PRO TIP !!!✈️
Business Class Travel Hack!
I’m not sure why no one is talking about this but I’m an economy class traveller who flies business class fairly regularly for overseas flights.
Bidding is one of my number one ways that I get an upgrade!
How it works:
On flights with availability left in business class, the airline will send out a bid email to fill up the unbooked seats. You select a bid that is comfortable for your budget.
This amount is IN ADDITION TO WHAT YOU PAID ON YOUR ORIGINAL FARE.
Typically the bids high end are 20% lower than the published fare and allow you to go to a fairly low number. (They even have a ranking scale to let you know if your bid is poor, average, good, excellent etc.
Then you wait and the airline will email you if your bid has been accepted, and your credit card will automatically be charged, typically within 48hrs of your flight! Air Canada has the bidding process right on their site now even so you don’t have to wait for the invitation to bid
Fair warning though lol, once you’re used to those bid upgrades it’s pretty sad when you don’t get it 🤣 business class is slightly addictive!

Thank u🎉 I didn't think most airlines would allow the inflatable foot pillow, I like the idea,
Compression socks I was told should be put on at the beginning of the day , not after u have walked around all day
Looked into that. They usually have a minimum bidding price and that price is usually well over $1,200
Did the same last year with Air Canada to Barcelona- the overnight flight was amazing
It doesn’t always work.
I would rather pay $1200 for premium economy and control my destiny. If you already have the points, you can use those to upgrade.
So how is bidding done with your chosen airline once you’ve bought a ticket? I’ve never even heard of bidding? 😂
Almost never works honestly
@JenzJourneys i booked economy from toronto to manila – both ways 2300 cad. i upgraded for 1500 to business class at luggage drop off….. and on the way back i upgraded for 1700 cad to business. and yes, it was NOT AC. and 2 years ago i booked with condor hfx to fra – upgrade 24 hrs before flight from premium economy to business 150 euro and the flight back to hfx was FREE upgrade to business….
You did Air Canada a big favour! Paying an extra $800 when the plane is empty, and they are giving you just a bit fancier meal, which would have been thrown out anyways! Who cares if the seat is a bit wider when the plane is empty.
This has been going on for YEARS.
where is the app 'Bidding' ???
Does this mean you will be invited to upgrade only if you pick the last row of economy or any economy seat? Any airlines who are known to offer this upgrade bidding?
Disadvantage of this feature is that you still get accredited economy class miles.
Just got to the airport the day of the trip very early and you can get a seat in business or first class
how do you sign up for these email bids?
Maybe no one talks about it because 1200 for one way is still beyond the budget. who wants to pay this? how spoiled are u that u think this is a nice deal that more pepole should pay. Its called buisness class because an average sallary is not mentioned for you. so stop pretending u live "the life" if u need deals for this than u dont belong there.
This doesn't work for all airlines. The bigger airlines won't give you a business class seat for the price of an economy
do this only if you are ok if you don't win and got stuck in the back economy
No way that business class seat is 8500, that’s more than more airlines charge for first class. Also everyone knows about bidding, there is usually a minimum bid and after if you select the „cash upgrade“ option instead of bid, it’s often cheaper than the minimum bid and you get immediate confirmation and better selection of seats.
often the minimum bid is about the price you would pay if you simply direct purchase the upgrade – and they of course also allow you to bid way higher, too. bidding is usually a scam …
Flying in Europe there's almost no chance in doing so. Almost every flight is packed to the brim
