Don't use skip lagged unless you don't plan to ever fly with that airline again and aren't checking any bags. Particularly with most legacy carriers, you may get banned for using it. It's not illegal, but that doesn't change their right to refuse service.
For anyone who doesn't have flexibility in dates due to job schedule restrictions this is virtually impossible
