Heyo! Mitch and Day here ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

Weโ€™re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it…we were married ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿป๐Ÿคต๐Ÿผ

Now weโ€™re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป

Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you donโ€™t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life…all you need to do is make the choice!

  1. ๐Ÿ‘€ Here's the easier way to find cheap flights (I recommend testing out both of these programs below to find cheap flights as easily as possible)๐Ÿ‘‡

Going free plan (personalized cheap flights newsletter): https://swiy.co/CheapFlightsNewsletter
Daily Drop Pro free plan (personalized cheap flights newsletter): https://swiy.co/DDP

  2. Kiwi literally has an option to look for cheapest connection flights, you don't have to manually search. This "method' is literally going to lose you money. Imagine that the cheapest flight to Europe is London, and it for is 250โ‚ฌ? for example. And the flight to Venice would be 100โ‚ฌ, the total cost is 350โ‚ฌ.

But then, Warsaw could cost 275โ‚ฌ (more expensive, so you'll ignore it), and have a flight to Venice for 30โ‚ฌ. The total here is 305โ‚ฌ. Just saved 45โ‚ฌ on your terrible method.

Kiwi or any other proper search engine will do those things for you. Don't use Google.

  3. 3rd parties sometimes cost hundreds more if you have connecting flights. I learned hard way and now never buy from 3rd party even with couple hundred difference.

  4. 2:09 Itโ€™s not much cheaper if you have to travel from London Heathrow to London Stansted. If you consider the extra cost and possibly another 4h to your trip (for airport transfer and international departure) itโ€™s not really worth it. Also, Kayak and Momondo are the same company.

  5. You don't mention that your first hack is not a single itinerary, but separate tickets (likely on different airlines) so you can't check your baggage through to your final destination. You most likely have to go through passport control to baggage collection and then check-in for the second flight and go through passport control again. This can take hours and is a big PITA just to save a bit of money.

  6. For Tipp number 1 I would not recommend this… To much of a risk if your first flight is delayed plus what you didn't mention is that you have to consider the arrival time of your first flight then the time you have to redo the process of checking in again etc… Not ideal and way to much stress for saving maybe 100 bucks

  7. I am more interested in finding โ€œcheapโ€ premium economy tickets. I find that premium costs 2-3 more than economy which is ridiculous for 2 inches of leg room. I would rather pay for seat selection (typical $30) to make sure we get isle seat (which allows us to get up walk around on long international flights).

  8. So I followed the instructions on the video, and tried several different city combinations and options. It's interesting but for me using Google flights was a giant waste of time. Since you cannot book direct from Google flights, they give you a link to the airline(s) that you can book from after you have done your search. However, that link just takes you to the airline, you now have to enter all your trip details all over again, and guess what? Yes you guessed it, the prices (seat categories etc) and baggage allowances are all different and/or not available. So I could have just gone direct to United (or whatever airline) to begin with and saved myself the extra time WASTED searching on Google. I don't get why using Google flights is of any use, so you can look and see what you MIGHT, maybe, if you are lucky get on a certain airline? I don't get it.

  9. To make it easier to see several combinations of departures date and return date fares, click on DATE GRID which is seen just below the list of "top departing flight" results at the 8:46 mark in the video. You can use the date grid along with adjusting the length of trip as see in the video.

  10. Cheap, but not worth it when you have to deal with multiple airlines and possibly even have to transfer airprots. Easily turns into a nightmare scenario when doing the first trick.

  11. Hey Mitch, I'm so happy I came across your videos. They are SO informative and real.ย Now that I've buttered you up, Please, Please, Please stop moving back and forth while speaking, I may be the only weirdo(I suspect I am) but I get nauseous.ย
*For you guys out there, don't get your panties in a bunch. I love his content but I really get nauseous!

  12. 3:50 I have literally no idea how you went from the page with the map which I see on my side, to the "new cool feature that Google developed". You just swapped to it without saying how you got to it. Very helpful.

  13. Completely failing to mention the flight to London takes over 30 hours with a stop so presuming a 10-20hr layover somewhere before then having to catch a flight that was a day or so ago by the time you land in London. Plus, Ryanair can charge 30-50 quid extra for luggage and then a surplus of ยฃ13 per kilo over the limit

  14. hello there !

I came to this video because I am interested in the subject and some guy with the Brazilian Portuguese made the voice over on your video; if you can do something about please do it because I don't like Portuguese I came here for English tutorial

    thank you kindly

  15. Most would consider me a seasoned traveler. So naturally, I usually learn anything from YT or social media post talking about "travel hacks" and feel like I wasted time lol . However, I always learn at least one new thing (sometimes more) from watching your videos. Very nice. Thanks!

  16. for the first "trick" if you search flights to Venice why would it not show that combination of flights via London to Venice? probably because there is something else wrong (i.e. the schedules don't align or you have to switch to another airport because Ryanair flies out of STN)
also you searched for July 15 for London-Venice but it should be 16 in this case because you're arriving the following day ๐Ÿ˜‚

  17. Impossible to fly Chicago -London and London-Venice the same day with departure from London at 06:45 am ๐Ÿ˜‚.
Be carful to delay for the first flight, always book all tickets from the same airlines company ๐ŸŽ‰

  18. If anything from web..even from airline site direct, they can change your class or airport after youโ€™ve paid in part of your connections…after paid in google agent, a phone call after said double booking, (book not = bought) change date + add more money (up selling)…If web buying & their last email changed your airport or class, Since no local shops/agents, hope for good luck. Online they can play so many tricks, recording learning all the time.

  19. it's a bait and switch in reality. I have tried gf many times and when I go to the website to book, it's usually not available, or there is an 'error' or the 'cheap' flight is totally booked. So I just go to my favorite airline to start with.

  20. I learned my lesson on booking through a third party. When our Ireland trip was cancelled due to COVID, Expedia told me that it would give us a voucher. Since we still wanted to go we accepted the voucher. By the end of the year there were still no flights to Ireland and I asked for my money back. Expedia told me that I needed to get the money from Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus told me I needed to get it from Expedia. Very long story short, I got the U.S. Department of Transportation involved and a year and a half later finally got our money returned.

This is great research information, but my recommendation is to take your research
information and book through the airline itself.
